Escape from New York - Episode 35: Retro Media Talk | Podcast

 

In Episode 35 of the Retro Media Talk Podcast we revisit the 1981 cult classic film by John Carpenter 'Escape from New York'.

 Set in a post-apocalyptic Manhattan that has been turned into a maximum-security prison, the movie follows Snake Plissken (played by Kurt Russell) as he battles his way out of the island, facing brutal inmates and daunting challenges along the way.

With crime running rampant in the city, the US president (portrayed by Donald Pleasence) becomes stranded in the prison after a crash landing. With no other options, the government turns to Snake to rescue the president and bring him back to safety. However, Snake must complete his mission within 24 hours, or he will be killed by an explosive device implanted in his neck.

Escape From New York is an electrifying adventure that takes audiences on a thrilling ride through a dystopian world filled with danger and excitement.
